The board of the FA Premier League has met today and have decided to extend the suspension of Premier League games until at least April 30th due to the Coronavirus.
A statement, however, has committed to completing the current season and the FA have said that the season can be extended indefinitely – this suggests that there is no time limit on getting the season over the line.
All 20 Premier League clubs have made a commitment to complete the 2019/20 season.
What does this mean for Liverpool?
On the face of it this is very good news for Liverpool FC. The Premier League, the Football Association and all 20 Premier League clubs have committed to getting this season done even past a June 30 deadline. There still may be complications, however, around player contracts and a Fifa working group is currently trying to come up with a solution.
All in all good news as the completion of this season could even instead into next, but we are not out of the woods yet. It’s Liverpool, we never make it easy, even when we make it easy!
