So the Premier League including all clubs gave the go ahead to restart the season today. It’s back! But when can we win the thing?
Well the first two fixtures to be played are the games in hand between Villa and Sheffield United, while Man City host Arsenal. So if Man City lose that game then Liverpool can secure the title with one more win. If City draw that game then one more win would leave the Reds all but Champions. They’d have to lose all their remaining games and City would have to win all theirs and catch up on goal difference. Cloud cuckoo land. Incidentally, the Etihad seems an ideal place to kick off behind closed doors games. Whistles.
Our first game!!!
Update: Liverpool away to Everton first, free to air on Sky.
Liverpool, as far as we know, will play Palace at home first followed by Everton away. The first of these fixtures will be played the weekend of June 19-21. There is no confirmation on fixture dates as yet but we expect games to be played on weekends so the game at Goodison is likely to take place on the following weekend.
Basically, we need to win both these games to secure the title and I’d be surprised if we see anything less. The Reds will be absolutely raring to go and eager to get the title mathematically secured in the quickest time possible. So our advice is to get the beers in for all games as we are likely to win this thing during one of the next two games, that would leave at least 7 more games so plenty of beer needed for those games too!
