Liverpool FC signed Jordan Henderson from Sunderland in 2011 after a string of impressive appearances for the Wearsiders would see him win his first England cap in 2010 – he was signed by Kenny Dalglish and would go on to be an ever present figure in Liverpool’s midfield under Kenny, Brendan Rodgers and Jurgen Klopp.
Brendan Rodgers made Henderson Liverpool captain in 2014 after the departure of the legendary Steve Gerrard – it was always going to be a hard act to follow but Henderson has gone on to make 300 appearances for the Reds.
Henderson immortalized himself in Anfield folklore joining Emlyn Hughes, Phil Thompson, Graeme Souness and Steven Gerrard as a European Cup/Champions League winning captain for the Redmen.
