No. 1 Alisson Becker

Name: Alisson Becker

Number: 4

Position: Centre Back

Born: 02/10/1992 – Novo Hamburgo, Germany

Alisson Becker joined Liverpool FC from Roma in the summer of 2018 for a record breaking fee of somewhere in the region of 65 to 70 million pounds.

Remarkably, this came just a couple of months after Liverpool fired 7 past him over 2 legs on their way to knocking Roma out of the Champions League at the semi-final stage. Becker would go on, however, to lift the following year’s Champions League trophy with Liverpool, the Copa America with his national side Brazil, alongside numerous prestigious personal awards.

He won the Goalkeeper of the tournament in both the Champions League and the Copa America, conceding only 1 goal in the latter competition. He would also win the Premier League Golden Glove (managing 21 clean sheets) and be named in the Premier League team of the year for 2018/2019.

So having paid a huge fee for the keeper Liverpool and Jurgen Klopp would strike gold again in the transfer market with the German admitting that if he had realised how good Alisson was he’d have happily paid twice the fee!
