Liverpool Star Committed to the Future with “My Club”

Liverpool star reaffirms his unwavering commitment to the club, declaring his intention to fight for his place in Arne Slot’s side. Speaking in an interview with The Athletic, the young midfielder, who grew up a passionate Liverpool fan, shared insights into his mindset, his conversations with manager Arne Slot, and his determination to succeed at Anfield.

“Liverpool Is My Club, Liverpool Is My Team”

Elliott, now an established part of Liverpool’s squad, made it clear that his connection to the club runs deep. “Liverpool is my club, Liverpool is my team. I want to fight for my place, fight for my position in the team,” Elliott told The Athletic. “I am going to do what it takes and help the team out when it’s possible. It’s down to me to put in the effort, the hard work, the desire, to achieve that. I am not going to give up. I am going to keep fighting, and who knows what might happen.”

As a lifelong Liverpool supporter, Elliott’s passion for the Reds is evident in his every word. Growing up idolizing the club, his current role in the squad is a dream come true, though he knows success will only come through relentless effort.

Learning from Conversations with Arne Slot

Elliott also revealed he has been having discussions with Liverpool’s manager, Arne Slot, about improving his game and earning more minutes on the pitch. “It’s just friendly conversations: ‘Is there anything I need to show you to get more game time? Is there anything I need to work on specifically?’ We have had those conversations,” Elliott said.

The 20-year-old acknowledged that these conversations aren’t exclusive to him, noting that other players in the squad are equally focused on self-improvement. “It’s not just me; it’s other lads as well who maybe haven’t played as much as they want probably doing the same thing. I need to keep my head down and wait for my opportunity.”

Battling Back from Setbacks

Elliott’s road to this point hasn’t been without challenges. An injury at the start of the season temporarily set him back, but the midfielder maintains a mature perspective. “I was out with an injury at the start of the season. I don’t expect to come in and play straight away. I want to help my team out as much as I can. Help the club out. Do everything I can,” he stated.

Elliott also highlighted the importance of pressing and defensive contributions, noting the high standards set by his teammates. “We have players in the team who are unbelievable at it — in terms of Darwin, Curtis (Jones), people like that, constantly pressing, constantly running around. It is something that I can do, but I need to get into a rhythm of doing it and making it effective. Not just doing it for the sake of doing it.”

Eyes on the Future

For Elliott, the focus is clear: continuous improvement and dedication to Liverpool. His love for the club shines through in his words, and his determination to succeed promises a bright future for the young star.

Liverpool fans will undoubtedly be encouraged by Elliott’s attitude and commitment, as he strives to contribute even more to the club he has supported since childhood.
