According to The Times’ Paul Joyce and the Telegraph’s Chris Bascombe Liverpool FC have opened new contract negotiations with manager Jurgen Klopp.
Klopp had decided to end his time at the club In 2024 after his current contract ran out, and after 9 years as manager. Recent murmurings in the press, however, had indicated that the German may be willing to extend his time at Liverpool to the excitement of the fans. And now, according to journalists close to the club, it looks like new contract negotiations are on!
This is absolutely huge news for Liverpool as they look set to retain their most valuable asset well into the future. Player contracts renewals are extremely important for Liverpool, especially when you have world beaters like Mo Salah in the side but nothing comes close to Jurgen Klopp in terms of importance for Liverpool FC.
The German has utterly transformed the club from a broken giant desperate for success but up against all the odds competing against oil clubs as well as behemoth clubs like Manchester United, Real Madrid, Barcelona et al. As hard as it gets in football, some thought impossible, but the Brilliant German has pulled it off against the wildest expectations of the fans.
In our opinion, there is not a manager alive who could have delivered what Klopp has at Liverpool and not just on the pitch. He has lifted the entire club and fan base from day one, made amazing signings and vastly improved pretty much all of them from the start, made multiple technical changes and administrative changes that have transformed the culture of the club into winners. All with very little money and while overseeing the redevelopment of Anfield and other facilities. He builds the team, motivates the team and fans, he is a master tactician, he strikes fear into the opposition and he delivers. All with humour and humility. He is the best manager in the world.
If Jurgen Klopp eventually agrees to sign a new contract it will be the best signing Liverpool has made since.. Well, Jurgen Klopp! If Joyce and Bascombe are reporting this then it has come from within the club and so we’d consider it highly likely that a contract will be signed given the club have essentially gone public with this news. And this couldn’t have come at a better time to give the club a lift as they chase an historic quadruple of trophies. The Carabao Cup winners are in the final of the FA Cup having beaten Man City 3-2 in the semi final, they have one foot in the final of the European Champions’ League and are just one point behind Man City in a hotly contested Premier League.
Over the last year or so Liverpool have secured new contracts for the vast majority of our important players and now it looks like we will sign our most valuable asset in our manager.. Next up, Mo Salah! And glory!
