According to the President of UEFA Liverpool are almost certain to be awarded the Premier League title. Whether that is by completing the season normally, behind closed doors, or it being awarded to them in the case of the season being cancelled.
The current position of UEFA is that the season will be completed at some future point. This is likely to be backed up heavily by FIFA in the next day or two. They are expected to allow leagues to be suspended until such time as it is safe to play again (likely behind closed doors) with No Deadline.
Liverpool are currently 25 points clear at the top of the table having played a game more than Man City, 6 points would guarantee the title regardless of anyone else’s results.
UEFA president Aleksandar Ceferin, Speaking to Slovenian publication Ekipa24:
“I couldn’t see a way Liverpool could be left without a title.”
“If it is played, they will almost certainly win it—theoretically, it has not yet reached a guaranteed level, but it is practically close.”
“However, if it could not be played, it would also be necessary to announce the results in some way, and then the champions should be determined.”
“And of course, again, I cannot see a scenario in which that would not be Liverpool.”
“I understand the fans will be disappointed if it happens in an empty stadium, or even at a league meeting, but I believe they will win the title in one way or another.”
