Could Liverpool receive Gold Premier League trophy?

When Arsenal went unbeaten for an entire League season in 2004/05 they not only claimed the League title but also a special Gold Premier League trophy.

There is some misconceptions about this trophy, However. The first thing to note is that it was given to Arsenal as a special award to celebrate a great unbeaten league campaign. There is no rule that says any future unbeaten team would receive one. The biggest misconception though seems to be that an unbeaten team is actually given a full sized gold Premier League trophy instead of the normal silver one. This is not the case, in fact the Premier League trophy always stays the same and the gold one is simply an additional commemorative trophy. See the picture below.

Wenger looks Massive!

Do Liverpool even want the gold trophy?

Yes, of course! If only to annoy Arsenal fans who think this little gimmick is the best thing since sliced bread! Also, if we do end up with this golden Premier League mini trophy then that’ll mean we have gone unbeaten and that is much more important! Particularly as the record will have a lot more wins and points than Arsenal managed and will eclipse it in the history books.

Will Liverpool get the gold trophy?

We don’t know! No one does. We do know that we have absolutely no chance if we don’t go unbeaten! If we do go unbeaten however, we are very, very, likely to eclipse Manchester City’s 100 point Premier League record also, as well as Arsenal’s overall Premier League unbeaten record of 49 games. This is all way more important than a gimmicky trophy. We would be centurions, invincibles, and more than anything, unbearables!
