Liverpool FC need just 6 more points to guarantee winning the Premier League title.
2 more wins would be plenty and that is only if Man City win their next two games, away to Arsenal on Wednesday night, and at home to Burnley on Saturday.
Liverpool got back to winning ways this weekend with a hard thought home win against Bournemouth, while Man City were yet again beaten, this time to rivals Man Utd at Old Trafford.
Let’s take a look at some possible scenarios. Where and when could Liverpool be crowned Premier League Champions?
Unlikely?
Man City lose to Arsenal at the Emirates on Wednesday night, and at the Etihad to Burnley the following Saturday. Liverpool are crowned champions of England without kicking a ball (from now). This one is pretty unlikely you would have thought. This City side is well and truly broken by Klopp’s Liverpool but surely they will manage at least a point from those two games.
Winning it at Goodison?
If Man City take 3 points or less from those 2 games then a win at our local rivals will be good enough. This, of course, will go down very well, particularly on Merseyside, and the sooner the better on our title win. So here’s hoping!
Most Likely?
The most likely scenario, just about, is that Man City take between 4 and 6 points before Liverpool go to Goodison. So if the Reds can keep up with tradition and put Everton to the sword then a win at home to Palace the following Saturday (17.30 kickoff) would see the Redmen confirm the title. This would work out perfectly, as the Anfield crowd deserve a night like that after a 30 year long wait. And the icing on the cake is that Man City would almost certainly have to give Liverpool a guard of honour at their next fixture, away at the Etihad. Also, a Saturday night, absolutely perfect for a MASSIVE celebration!
