Mohammed Salah turns 28 today, we take a look back at his explosive Liverpool career so far.
Salah signed for Liverpool in the summer of 2017 and took the Premier League by storm scoring 32 goals in 36 games breaking the Premier League season goal scoring record for a 38 game season. He would win the PFA Players’ Player of the Year award as well as the Premier League golden boot.
Things would take a turn for the worse in the Champions League final that year. Salah was injured by Sergio Ramos early on in the game and couldn’t continue, and after Sergio Ramos deliberately injuried Loris Karius as well, the writing was on the wall for Liverpool. Have a look at the videos of Ramos running out of his natural course and clattering Karius. It was undoubtedly cheating, but Liverpool would get their just deserts the following year.
Salah would again win the golden boot despite some opposition fans claiming that he would be a one season wonder. He actually shared it.. with Sadio Mane! He helped Liverpool reach their second Champions League final in 2 years and this time the Egyptian, and his team mates, would win the day and secure number 6 for the Redmen!
Salah once again would start banging goals home in the 2019-2020 season leading Liverpool FC to what is now an inevitable 19th English League title. He has 16 goals so far this season and is well in with a shout for another golden boot. The man has become a goal machine. He has huge pace, a huge heart, tons of trickery and endless goals. Salah has been a fantastic signing for the Reds and here’s to another 5 or 6 years of joy! Happy birthday, Mo!
