Klopp: Sadio Mane to have scan on suspected hamstring problem

IT looks like Sadio Mane will have a scan on the injury picked up last night against Wolves and he will definitely miss the FA Cup game away to Shrewsbury on Sunday. This is according to Jurgen Klopp in his press conference for that game which you can watch below. If anything it is likely to be a grade 1 tear which can take up to 3 weeks to heal. Sadio is a big loss of course, as we saw when he went off against Wolves last night, but on the positive side he has looked very tired of late and a bit of a rest might do him the world of good going into a crucial point of the season. Ideally, we’ll have him back in time for the restart of the Champions League and he’ll be raring to go and ready to cause European defences more nightmares going forward.

Liverpool are likely to make a vast number of changes for the Shrewsbury game, in fact they may well make 11, but we have some very decent back-up players and should be able to put out a team that can get past Shrewsbury even having made that number of changes.
